Qualifications

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Fertility Specialist / Consultant to join our busy clinic in Southampton. We are excited to welcome a new team member to the clinic. You will be a skilled professional with experience or an interest in developing skills in assisted conception and have the desire to be part of the largest provider of IVF in the UK.

The post holder must have a full GMC registration and will work with the other doctors within the clinic. The post holder is responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest standard of clinical and patient care in accordance with the HF&E Act 2008 and the current HFEA Code of Practice.

We are open to considering both full‑time and part‑time arrangements for the right candidate.

The Location

Oxford Fertility was established in 1992 and is one of the UK’s longest standing and largest IVF clinics. Due to the passion, expertise and reputation of our team the clinic has grown into a leading fertility clinic and offers a full suite of treatment and diagnostic services including PGT. Providing treatment to both NHS and private patients, Oxford Fertility performs approximately 1000 fresh cycles and 1000 frozen cycles per year. Oxford Fertility also has a 5/5 inspection rating from the HFEA.

Conveniently located in a business park situated on the outskirts of Oxford close to junction 8a of the M40 there is ample free parking for patients and staff around the building.

  • Egg collections

  • HyCoSy & Saline procedures
  • Work closely with medical nursing and other colleagues to offer the highest level of patient care
  • Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary fertility team

SSR procedures desirable but not essential. The above will be reviewed as required in consultation with the post holder. It is offered as a guide to the key responsibilities and duties but does not preclude other projects that may arise as the organisation evolves.

The post holder must maintain confidentiality of information about patients, employees and other company business in accordance with the National and European data protection legislation.

Job requirements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Full GMC Registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register
  • High Diploma (Fellowship or Membership) of Speciality College MRCOG or equivalent
  • Experience in Gynecology or Fertility
  • Effective communication skills regarding medical topics with both patients and colleagues
  • Patient focused attitude
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years clinical experience working as a Consultant Fellow or Doctor
  • An understanding of the biology and scientific evidence underpinning clinical practice
  • Strong knowledge of the HFEA Code of Conduct
  • An understanding of the work of related disciplines
  • An appropriate level of supervision and management skills
  • An understanding of prevailing legislation
  • An understanding of and ability to apply quality assurance and monitoring of clinical performance
