Job summary

Blue Ribbon in Penwortham is hiring a Female Support Worker to help individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities live fuller, more independent lives. You will support daily living, provide care, document records and help with medications in a full-time role.

You will work as part of a caring team, follow person-centered plans, and pursue Level 2 in Health & Social Care while delivering safety, inclusion and meaningful activities for service users.

Qualifications

  • Patience, empathy and strong communication skills are essential.
  • Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health & Social Care.

Responsibilities

  • Enable People we Support to access activities and respect personal choices.
  • Follow person-centred care plans to meet individual needs.
  • Assist with personal care, daily living tasks and maintain a safe home.
  • Complete care records, fluid/nutrition charts and incident reports accurately.
  • Administer and record medications safely and correctly.
  • Support meals, domestic tasks and general household duties.
  • Provide psychological, emotional and physical support to service users.
  • Assist with community access, appointments and meaningful social interactions.
  • Identify concerns and maintain safeguarding practices.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families and external professionals.
  • Encourage independent living skills where possible.
  • Keep training up to date to ensure best practices.

Pay Rate - £13.14 per hour

(Full-Time)

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Enable People we Support to access a full range of chosen activities, ensuring their personal choices and preferences are supported.
  • Contribute to and follow person-centred care plans, ensuring individual needs and wants are always met.
  • Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Accurately complete key daily documentation, including care records, fluid and nutrition charts, and incident reports.
  • Administer and record medication safely and accurately.
  • Support individuals with meal preparation, domestic duties, and general household tasks.
  • Provide psychological, emotional, and physical support to service users.
  • Enable access to the community, support with appointments, and encourage meaningful social interactions.
  • Identify and report any concerns, ensuring a safe and safeguarding-compliant environment.
  • Maintain positive relationships with family members, friends, and external professionals.
  • Encourage and support independent living skills where possible.
  • Keep up to date with all required training to ensure best practices.
