Overview

We are looking for a part-time, compassionate, reliable, and proactive female Support Worker to join an established care team supporting a young woman with complex health needs, including Cauda Equina syndrome, T5 paraplegia, dissociative disorder, and functional seizures. She lives on a peaceful smallholding in Whitemoor, St Austell with her husband and two children, alongside several animals. Becoming this young woman’s Support Worker offers a rewarding opportunity to provide person-centred care within a warm, family-oriented, and animal-friendly environment.

Roles Available
  • Part time: 24 hours / 2 shifts per week
Shift Pattern
  • Day Shifts: 09:00–21:00

Bank holidays and weekend work form part of the rota.

Pay Rates
  • £15.00 per hour weekday day rate
  • £16.00 per hour weekend day rate

Double time for bank holidays. Rates are paid £1.00 per hour less during the probationary period.

Ideal Support Worker

Essential:

  • A positive, caring, and proactive approach

Job Description

Job purpose: To support the client with day-to-day living, promoting independence and ensuring safety and wellbeing at all times.

Internal and Management: This role reports to the Registered Manager.

Key Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide practical support for personal care, household tasks and paperwork
  • Assist and encourage engagement in home, social, leisure and work activities
  • Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
  • Help access community facilities and group activities as desired
  • Understand communication needs and adapt communication accordingly
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of care provided
  • Work with other professionals to ensure consistency of support
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities as required

This role may require additional duties reasonably assigned by the Line Manager. As a term of employment, you may undertake other duties/hours as reasonably required.
