About the Role

Join a warm, committed care team and family supporting a lovely young woman with complex health and learning needs in her family home. Are you looking to make a real difference? No experience needed as full training will be given.

Are you kind, patient, and enthusiastic about making a real difference in someone’s life? We're looking for a female support worker to join a small, dedicated care team and also the parents, supporting a wonderful young woman with complex care needs in her warm and loving family home.

This is a practical, hands‑on role where you’ll provide consistent, high‑quality care and support engaging activities daily. We value honesty, openness, and clear communication, creating a close and supportive environment.

The family appreciates carers who are reliable, transparent, and committed to maintaining a respectful and positive atmosphere. If you are caring, trustworthy, and proactive, you’ll be a valued member of this team.

Working within a family home requires an awareness that your workplace is part of a private family environment. You are expected to demonstrate respect, discretion, and empathy at all times.

The client has a gastrostomy for medication administration, so experience in gastrostomy care would be a valuable benefit, although full training will be provided.

The Client

The client is a vibrant young woman with a severe acquired brain injury and complex medical needs, including epilepsy. She has the cognitive development of a young child and requires 24/7 support from two carers at all times.

She may not communicate in traditional ways, but she expresses happiness through smiles, relaxation, and reactions to her surroundings. She deserves to feel comforted, and cared for every moment of the day, with devoted people by her side at all times, ensuring she is happy, safe, and fully attended to.

Your mission? Help her live a life filled with fun, comfort, creativity, and care.

A Day in the Life

You’ll support her in child‑led activities such as:

  • Listening to music (especially Disney & Christian tunes)
  • Painting, baking, messy play, therapy‑based movement
  • Sensory play with lights, textures, and calming spaces
  • Driving her out for fun social experiences in her electric van
  • Working alongside her teacher in the home two days a week, supporting her home education

You’ll also assist with:

  • Full personal care and hygiene routines including manual handling, hoisting, and transfers
  • Daily record keeping (meds, charts, notes)
  • Helping with light domestic tasks to keep the home environment cozy, comfortable, and welcoming
  • Therapeutic interventions (with guidance from professionals)

  • Comfortable supporting someone who is completely dependent on care, including medication administration via gastrostomy (experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Happy to play, get messy, and have fun
  • Respectful and comfortable supporting the client’s Christian faith by reading Christian books and playing Christian music as part of her daily routine (no personal faith requirements necessary)
