Job summary

IBC Healthcare is hiring a Support Worker for our Supported Living service in Acocks Green, Birmingham. This full-time role offers 42 hours per week with a pay rate of £12.90 per hour, providing direct support to adults with complex needs.

You will deliver person-centred care, assist with daily living tasks and help clients access community activities, with ongoing training and funded qualifications to support your career development.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with mental health conditions and complex care needs.
  • Driving licence required for travel between locations.
  • Ability to multi-task, with good time management and flexibility.
  • IT literacy and strong communication skills.
  • Compassionate, caring personality with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care to adults with disabilities and complex needs.
  • Assist with daily tasks including medication administration, cooking, cleaning and paperwork.
  • Offer emotional and practical support to individuals in care.

  • Role: Support Worker
  • Pay Rate: £12.90 Per Hour
  • Shifts: Options of day shift or Night shift
  • Full-time - 42 hours per week
Duties Include
  • To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Basic daily duties include medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and paperwork.
  • To Provide emotional and practical support.
  • To support the people in our care to access community facilities and be included in community groups.
  • To build a robust relationship with the people in our care to promote independence and improve quality of life.
  • To Empower the people in our care to learn new skills or pursue hobbies and interests.
Person Specifications
  • Previous experience Supporting people with Mental Health Conditions, Complex Care needs, Challenging Behaviours, Autism and Psychosis
  • Driving Licence Essential
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • Good time management, organization, attention to detail and flexibility.
  • IT literate.
  • A positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • You must have a compassionate, caring, positive personality.
  • Possess a genuine passion for making a real difference in people's lives.
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour and conflict.
  • Works well as part of a team as well as individually.
