A community support organization in Rugby is seeking a caring individual to provide personal support to a lady with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, promoting socialization, and building a trusting relationship. Ideal candidates are reliable, honest, and flexible in their working hours. Training is provided, and a valid driver's license is required.
Lady in her late 30s who is a wheelchair user due to cerebral palsy and is registered blind but has a bubbly and lively personality. She is looking for someone with a similar personality who can take her out into the community, help her meet new people, and do lots of chatting. She enjoys long conversations and having lots of laughs. Due to her blindness, she has a very high sense of smell and hearing, so communication is very important, and she would appreciate a prewarning when things are going to be done or happen. It is also important that she is listened to, as she has preferences for how things are done, and her grandma is a very important part of her life and also needs to be listened to. She would also like someone who will do baking, arts and crafts with her, and it is important to build a very good, trusting, and reliable relationship.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
The individual’s needs may vary from day to day and tasks may reflect this. You may be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure. Costs will be covered.
Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.
Successful candidates are required to undertake any training considered necessary and appropriate to the role. Moving and Handling training will be provided by the employer.
