Job summary

• Patient and understanding individual who can build trust with the person.
• Ability to provide person-centred support and independence-promoting care.
• Willingness to assist with daily tasks, including cooking, light household duties and social activities.

Responsibilities

• Support with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support with attending appointments (hospital/doctors) as necessary.
• Help with food shopping and managing paperwork and correspondence.
• Encourage socialisation and participating in activities.
• Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship.
• Carry out duties as reasonably required and report accidents or hazards.
• Operate in a DBS-disclosed role as required.

I am a friendly, outgoing, middle-aged lady looking for a female Personal Assistant/Support worker to help me live independently and access the community. I am neurodivergent and have asthma, which can sometimes flare up quite severely. I also experience migraines and have a spinal condition. Although this does not affect my mobility or ability to walk, it does limit some physical activities, including lifting and certain household tasks. I am bubbly, sociable, and enjoy chatting with people. While I love good conversation, I can take a little time to feel comfortable and build trust with someone new. Therefore, I am looking for a patient, understanding individual who will allow me the time I need to get to know them and develop a positive working relationship. I am also looking for someone who can help me maintain my independence while providing reliable, person-centred support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
