A local care provider in Kenilworth is seeking a responsible and caring personal assistant to support an individual with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and daily living tasks to ensure independence. Ideal candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, be flexible, and demonstrate a genuine interest in helping those with disabilities. This is a permanent position with a minimum of 18 hours per week, offering an hourly wage of £12.50, increasing to £13.00 after probation.
I am a 30-year-old lady living in Kenilworth with my father, who is my main carer. I suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) which causes severe, debilitating fatigue, painful muscles and joints, and greatly affects my mobility. I use a wheelchair and need assistance transferring in and out. I require a personal assistant to help me maintain independence at home and when out. Due to my disability, I am unable to perform most personal care and daily living tasks.
As an employee, you will be responsible for supporting me in both personal and daily living tasks to ensure my independence and safety.
My needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Car driver is essential with business insurance.
Hourly Rate of pay: £12.50 rising to £13.00 after successfully completing probation period.
Contract Type: Permanent.
Hours per week: Minimum of 18.
Occasionally days and times may vary and occasional evening/weekend shifts, sleep‑ins and travel may be required and can be discussed at interview.
