Job summary

Voyage Care in Halifax is seeking a Female Support Worker to help residents gain independence and improve daily living skills. The role requires hands-on support, personal care assistance, and active engagement in cooking, cleaning, and community activities with a dedicated team at Ferncliffe House.

You will contribute to creating a warm, supportive environment, promoting autonomy while adhering to care plans.

Qualifications

  • Role requires a caring, hands-on approach and ability to support daily living activities.
  • Experience in personal care and enabling independence is preferred.
  • Full UK driving license is essential for this role.

Job description

Female Support Worker - Halifax- £12.72 per hour

Typical Shifts are: Monday - Sunday between 8:00am - 8:00pm (days with at least 1 sleep in and or wake nights per week )

* Driving license manual essential

As a support worker with us you’ll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our supported living service, Ferncliffe House in Halifax is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, cooking and cleaning when required, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local community the next you could be unwinding with them watching films or doing activities of their choice in the comfort of the service.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, Dementia autism and potentially people who have experienced trauma.
