Job summary

A support organization is seeking a Female Social Personal Assistant in Newcastle upon Tyne to assist an individual with learning disabilities. Responsibilities include accompanying the client on social outings, providing personal care support, and encouraging healthy living. The role requires a readiness to travel using public transport and offers 10.5 hours per week with additional hours available. Competitive pay at £13.20 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism is desirable.
  • Ability to access and transport using public transport; readiness to travel to various social activities and locations.
  • Capability to assist with personal care tasks and daily living activities as described.
  • Respect for routines and consistency; ability to adapt to changes with advance notice where possible.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.K. at the start of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany Karen to chosen social activities such as trips and restaurant visits.
  • Transport Karen safely on public transport to access the community.
  • Assist and encourage Karen with personal hygiene care.
  • Support Karen with dressing appropriately for the weather.
  • Encourage healthy eating and assist with meal preparation.
  • Accompany Karen to appointments and make bookings as needed.

Overview

Female Social Personal Assistant. Hours: 10.5 hours per week including weekends. There are extra hours available to cover maternity, sickness & holidays which will be discussed with the employer upon interview. Area: Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Rate: £13.20 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany Karen to chosen social activities which could include trips to the Metro Centre, cinema visits, lunch dates and days out to the beach; support to try new places of interest.
  • Access and transport Karen safely on public transport as she enjoys bus trips, ferry trips and the metro to access the community.
  • Assist and encourage Karen with personal hygiene care including prompting and assistance with showering, haircare and toileting hygiene.
  • Support Karen with dressing and choosing garments appropriately for the weather.
  • Encourage and assist with healthy eating and exercise; meal preparation is included in this role.
  • Accompany Karen to scheduled appointments and, when required, make bookings/appointments on Karen’s behalf.
