Overview

Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a Woman with a Physical Disability living in the Carluke area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities.

Responsibilities
  • Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements.)
  • Assisting with medication
  • Preparing meals and healthy snacks is required
  • Walking assistance is required
  • Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair.
  • Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Requirements / Preferences
  • Driver preferred but not essential
  • The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
  • Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
  • Favourite activities are Art, Listening to audible books, swimming, music and socialising.
  • Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog/cat/bird in the home.
  • Experience is required
  • Must be available to cover staff absences and holidays
Additional information
  • The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

  • Guaranteed permanent position of 13 hours per week
  • Days and times: Shifts - 4 shifts of 3 and a quarter hours
  • Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview
  • Hourly rate: £12.60 per hour
