Job Overview

Female Personal Assistant – Private Employer in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.

Provide personal care and support to a male client in his early fifties, including assistance with daily living activities and mobility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as washing, showering, bathing, dressing, and medication administration.
  • Prepare and cook balanced meals, manage meal preparation schedules and clean cooking area.
  • Support the client in using local community resources (gym, cinema, shopping).
  • Plan and accompany the client on social outings and maintain relationships with friends and family.
  • Provide transport to general medical appointments and community events (driving licence beneficial).
  • Log medication times on medication sheets and ensure safe medication administration.
  • Maintain a supportive, friendly, light‑hearted, patient attitude at all times.
  • Adhere to flexible working hours, be a good timekeeper, and work extra hours as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in personal care or willingness to learn.
  • Female applicant only, as per genuine occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1).
  • Non‑smoker.
  • Having a valid full driving licence is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities is desirable.
  • Up‑to‑date Police Vetting (PVG) reference – PVG application covered by employer if not already available.
  • Provide two up‑to‑date reference contacts.
Employment Terms

Part‑time, 8 hours per week, paid £12.60 gross per hour (weekly payment via BACS).

6‑month probationary period.

Employment on a PAYE basis directly by the private employer, with all statutory rights and benefits (paid holidays, statutory sick pay where eligible).
