Job summary

Self Direct Support Options Fife in Methil is seeking a patient, proactive Personal Assistant to support an energetic 11-year-old girl with autism and non-verbal communication. You’ll accompany her on walks, help with activities, and ensure safe, engaging outings in a calm, routine-driven setting.

Experience with additional needs, patience, and a valid driving licence (helpful) are important. PVG membership (or willingness to apply) is required. Flexible weekends/holidays discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with additional needs
• Patience and a good sense of awareness
• A valid driving licence - being able to drive is essential for this role
• PVG membership (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

• Support client on walks, play at home, or local outings
• Plan and suggest fun and engaging activities
• Use picture communication and gestures to support non-verbal communication
• Be observant and ensure safety at all times (client has PICA and no awareness of danger)
• Provide elements of personal care as needed
• Flexible working across weekends and holidays (exact times discussed at interview)
