Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking compassionate support workers to assist a young lady in daily living. The role involves personal care, medication prompts, and helping with domestic tasks in the home. Candidates should be reliable, patient, and discreet, with a willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings.

A full driving license is preferred but not essential. DBS disclosure will be required and costs are covered by the employer; training in moving and handling, epilepsy,

Qualifications

  • Care experience is beneficial but not essential.

  • Maintaining privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be 18+ to administer medication when required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assist with daily living tasks.
  • Prompt and support with medication as directed.
  • Assist with household chores and homemaking activities.
  • Help look after the individual's pets and home environment.
  • Encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
  • Develop a trusting one-to-one relationship with the client.

About The RoleDuties And Responsibilities
  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Support the individual to look after/care for pets.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication. The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Required Skills
  • Car driver preferred but not essential.
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.

  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.

  • Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
  • Have a lively personality.
Required Training

Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.

Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.

Epilepsy. Training will be provided by the employer.

Peg Feed. Training will be provided by the employer.

Monday, 6am-7am plus evening hours

Tuesday, 6am-7am plus evening hours

Saturday 9am-10am plus evening hours

Dates and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
