The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you’ll be part of our client’s dedicated support team, providing essential care in their home. You’ll be employed by HomeCareDirect but will focus solely on supporting this client.

This role requires you to live‑in at our client’s home from Monday to Monday, 1 week in 4 on a rolling rota. Day hours are 8am to 11pm and are paid at £14.40 per hour. Night hours are paid at £12.21 per hour.

About the Client & Your Responsibilities

Our client is a friendly, easy‑going and open‑minded person. She has various interests such as psychology/history/true crime/alternative news. Having ADHD, she really enjoys learning new things and spending time watching films, series and documentaries.

To live independently on a daily basis, our client would need support with personal care such as bowel care, washing and dressing, moving and handling, medication administering, light housework, cooking and feeding. She also has a dog who will need a short walk a couple of times a day.

You must be comfortable with dogs and working in a smoking environment (this will be risk assessed and discussed at interviews). You must be able to work 1 week in 4 on a rolling rota.

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive, paid training (to CQC standards) before your start date, covering:

  • Full induction
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • First Aid / Food Hygiene / Health & Safety
  • Personal Care / Catheter Care / Suppositories / Bowel Care
  • Administration of Medication / Moving & Handling with Hoist
  • Autonomic Dysreflexia / Spinal Injury / Mental Health / ADHD

All training must be completed prior to start date and is paid at normal pay rate.
