Female Care Assistants for a young person. I am currently looking to recruit 2 Female Support Workers to provide support for a 17 year old young person who has a diagnosis of autism, learning difficulties and sometimes presents complex challenging behaviours. The role is to provide support normally 8 hours per week term time at weekends and 16 hours during the holidays preferably weekdays. To work with a young person to encourage her to access the community and to gain independence. Rate of pay £13 per hour. At present the main role is support at home as she mainly enjoys her home comforts, including her gaming and her teddy bears. But the objective of the role will be independence and support to take part in activities she enjoys and spending more time away from home. This young lady enjoys the cinema, Nandos/ Chinese at the Metro Centre. There are pets in the household including two small dogs so you should be happy to work where pets are present. Building a relationship so that she feels comfortable to go out with you and feel supported is key, also to be able to suggest things to do out in the community so you should be willing to be proactive in finding various activities to take part in. Long term you will support her with new hobbies and attending new places. It is not a requirement that you have any qualifications or experience for this role as similar interests and having a good relationship with her is more important. The successful applicants will have patience, tolerance and a strong sense of self in guiding her to enjoy activities whilst making good choices when accessing the community. This teenager has a fantastic sense of humour and cheekily loves to make people laugh. A car driver with own car is essential. Non smoker.
