Job summary

A leading biomethane producer in the UK is seeking a Feedstock Manager to handle procurement and sourcing of agricultural feedstocks. Responsibilities include supplier relationship management, market analysis, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment. This full-time position is based in Devon and offers competitive salary with performance-related bonus.

Feedstock Manager

Full-time position

Acorn Bioenergy is a developer of anaerobic digestion sites throughout the UK. This rapidly growing business is expected to become the leading biomethane and green C02 producer in the UK.

Key duties include but are not limited to:
  • Procurement & Sourcing: Identify and source agricultural feedstocks, fresh produce residues, and by-products from farms, food processors, and other agricultural producers.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agricultural businesses, other suppliers and biogas plants.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to ensure competitive purchasing and selling strategies. Provide insights into the most effective procurement methods.
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee the logistics of transporting feedstocks to biogas plants, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining cost-efficiency. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate storage, handling, and processing needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all feedstock procurement processes adhere to relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of procurement transactions, pricing trends, and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports for senior management on procurement activities, cost savings, and business growth.
Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Feedstock Manager position:
