Haringey GP Federation is seeking a Chief Executive Officer. Closing date: 17 November 2025.

Job title: Chief Executive Officer

Salary range: £130,000 - £135,000 per year, depending on experience.

Accountable to: Federation Board

Responsible to: Federation Chair

Location: Haringey GP Federation - 48 Station Road, London, N22 7TY.

Annual leave: 30 days per annum

Main duties

The Chief Executive oversees the overall direction of Haringey GP Federation. They are the accountable officer, responsible for developing and delivering strategies that ensure the organisation meets the goals determined by the Board of Directors. They provide strategic leadership to ensure the Federation delivers its vision and operates according to values, positioning the Federation to respond to changing healthcare environments and new business opportunities. The CEO is accountable for delivering high-quality services in partnership with other health and care providers and the voluntary sector, maintaining strong relationships with members and supporting innovative workforce and education initiatives. They will be a strong and influential voice for General Practice in our Integrated Care System.

About Us

Haringey GP Federation is a dynamic and growing organisation working with GP practices across Haringey, north London. Formed in 2016 by local GPs, we work with over 30 practices within seven Primary Care Networks to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare. Our role is to support general practice by developing and delivering services that complement core GP work, enabling shared learning, and helping practices respond to evolving patient needs. We collaborate with practices, clinicians, and system partners to co-design services, pilot new approaches, and build capacity across primary care, adding value in practical, respectful ways aligned with member priorities. We are recognised nationally, including commendations at the HSJ Awards for leadership and service delivery.

Job Description / Responsibilities

Person Specification

Experience – Essential

  • Significant and demonstrable Board level experience within a structure of comparable scale
  • Track record of leading strategy development and translating this into operational objectives and plans
  • Strategic understanding of the health and social care system (including Primary Care) and awareness of external drivers affecting local health and social care commissioning and delivery
  • Experience working within a complex political policy context with a track record of translating national mandate into local delivery
  • Experience engaging and communicating with a breadth of senior stakeholders across health and care organisations, the voluntary sector, service users and the public
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and corporate governance with robust governance systems and processes
  • Track record of delivering financial and performance objectives

Qualifications – Essential

  • Educated to postgraduate level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing personal development
  • Demonstrable understanding of primary care, the broader health and social care system, and awareness of external drivers affecting local health and social care commissioning and delivery
