A leading defence organisation in Stevenage is seeking an FCAS Enablers Delivery Lead to manage a team and deliver key initiatives for the Future Combat Air System programme. The role requires technical understanding of digital infrastructure, people management experience, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. The Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is one of the largest, most exciting and challenging programmes within Defence – to design and deliver a Future Combat Air Programme for the RAF in record time.
Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The key cornerstone of FCAS is the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which sees the UK working with our international partners Italy and Japan, to deliver a future combat air platform. FCAS and GCAP presents a unique opportunity to influence the design of the system to consider the integration and employment of effects rather than just integrate effectors to an existing platform.
The FCAS portfolio consists of a number of different projects and contracts looking at different areas within Combat Air. MBDA UK is involved in a number of these projects including the TEMPEST project, where some novel technologies are being explored, the main UK FCAS Acquisition Programme, as well as the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the FCAS programme as our FCAS Enablers Delivery Lead. You would lead the delivery of key enabling initiatives, within FCAS, across Engineering Tooling, Secure Infrastructure and Operational Transformation and Improvement.
You will be leading a small team of up to six direct reports so previous people management experience is essential. The team are keen to develop and grow and part of your role will be to support them in their growth alongside day to day management.

As part of the role there will also be times where you would be expected to deputise for Head of Programme Enablers, where required, across the Enablers space including representing the programme with senior stakeholders at key working groups. The Programme Enablers spans across future manufacturing, Secure Infrastructure, Digital Infrastructure, Software Enterprise, Enterprise Data Management.
This role would be the perfect fit for an experienced Transition or Change Manager, someone who is used to working at pace and often in ambiguous situations.
