Qualifications

  • Studied engineering with a structural analysis background in fatigue and damage tolerance.

Responsibilities

  • Approve F&D deliverables and resolve F&D problems using appropriate methods.
  • Responsible for technical scope of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Contribute to engineering solutions from experience in aerospace or other environments.
  • Support development of less experienced team members.

Contract until the end of 2025 (initially)

Up to £52 per hour umbrella (Inside IR35)

Hybrid working - circa 2 - 3 days per week on site

Job Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Wing Analysis Engineering team at Filton.

We are a team of Structural Engineers who are a mixture of technical specialists and engineering leads who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support our products Wings. We have a vast wealth of knowledge and experience within our engineers who can help you grow technically and personally within this role.

This role offers more flexibility to work on most of our product Wings; from Incremental developments in Single Aisle and Widebody programmes, to cost saving and continuous airworthiness modifications. Our team touches nearly all aspects of the Product Development Plan (PDP) from feasibility studies to certification and occurrences once the product has entered service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Approve F&DT deliverables and lead the resolution of F&DT problems through the use of appropriate methods
  • Responsible for the technical scope of assigned projects and tasks
  • Contribute to engineering solutions and ways of working borne from experience in aerospace, other industries or research environments
  • Support the development of less experienced team members on both technical and behavioural aspects.
Key Attributes
  • Experience and know-how of structures engineering and analytical techniques
  • Good knowledge of overall aircraft structural design principles and techniques
  • Hold or be close to holding approval signatory in F&DT analysis
  • Ability to step back and propose new ideas
  • Studied engineering and have a structural analysis background, particularly fatigue and damage tolerance
