Job summary

North Yorkshire Councils is seeking Planning Assistants to join the team in Harrogate. The role supports the Planning Service across back-office and front-of-house tasks in a busy customer-facing environment.

You will gain exposure to development management, building control, policy work and land charges, with full training provided. Temporary posts run until the specified end dates, with opportunities for progression to permanent roles.

Responsibilities

• Registering and validating Planning and Building Control applications and notifications including Appeals.
• Process tasks connected to Planning and Building Control applications, reports, notices and decisions.
• Assist Street Naming and Numbering team.
• Process Enforcement Cases including Appeals.
• Process Tree Preservation Order Requests.
• Assist in Official Land Charge Searches.
• Administer Planning Committee processes.
• Handle enquiries by phone, email or post promptly.
• Use a Document Management System.
