Job summary

A leading agricultural company in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the production of crops in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in growing root crops and possess excellent negotiation and relationship management skills. Responsibilities include working with procurement to determine crops, managing contractors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position offers a full-time onsite role and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing grown crops, especially root vegetables.
  • Skills in negotiation and maintaining relationships with farmers.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Red Tractor and Leaf.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all grown crops across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
  • Work with the Procurement Manager to determine what to grow.
  • Select suitable contractors for timely and cost-effective work.
  • Maintain control of all costs related to crops.
  • Ensure compliance regarding raw materials and suppliers.
  • Monitor crop quality throughout the season.

Growing experience, ideally root crops
Strong negotiation skills
Farmer relationship skills
Red Tractor and Leaf knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
