Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a Farm Hand for a maternity cover at Frome, Somerset. This fixed-term role involves caring for livestock, maintaining farm environments, and supporting student learning activities.

The position runs 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £25,837.50 per annum, start October 2026, UK applicants only – no sponsorship available. The candidate will work as part of a supportive team to promote animal welfare, safety, and high standards of care across the farm and school

Qualifications

• Experience working with farm animals and livestock.

• Understand health and safety, biosecurity, and good farming practices.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and weather conditions.
• Committed to supporting positive outcomes for students and contributing to a nurturing school environment.
• Driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care, feeding, and welfare support for livestock and other farm animals.
• Monitor animal health and report concerns, liaising with colleagues and veterinary professionals.
• Operate farm vehicles and machinery safely and perform general farm maintenance including fencing repairs.
• Support land management, biodiversity initiatives, and environmental good practices across the farm.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and relevant farming regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and provide clear handovers to colleagues, including weekend staff.
• Support teaching and enrichment activities linked to the farm and environment curriculum.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote professionalism and care.

About the Role

Are you passionate about animal welfare and enjoy working outdoors? We're looking for a dedicated Farm Hand to help care for our animals and maintain our farm environment while supporting enriching learning opportunities for students.

As part of a supportive team, you'll play a key role in animal welfare, farm maintenance, and land management, helping to create a safe and engaging environment for both animals and students. This is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions

What You'll Be Doing
