Family Support Worker - Bolton Council
Location: Bolton
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Ongoing temporary position

Responsibilities
- Provide direct work with children and families, supporting positive routines, boundaries, and behaviour management strategies.
- Facilitate and supervise Family Time sessions, ensuring safe and meaningful contact between children and their families.
- Support families subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and court proceedings.
- Conduct home visits, contribute to assessments, and work collaboratively with social workers to inform care planning.
- Help families access community services, budgeting advice, and early help support.
- Record and report interventions accurately and timely using agreed systems.
Requirements
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. Health and Social Care, Childcare, Youth Work, Early Years, or similar).
- Previous experience working with children and families, ideally within safeguarding, early help, or similar support settings.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- A good understanding of child development, safeguarding, and evidence-based family support interventions.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as you may need to travel across Bolton at short notice.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends to meet service needs.
