Job summary

Newport City Council Council is seeking a Family Support Worker to help children on the cusp of the Youth Justice System. You will deliver needs-based assessments and develop multi-agency plans to support families using a strengths-based approach.

The role involves providing holistic family-focused programmes and interventions to strengthen parenting capacity and support families with complex needs. A driving licence and a DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• 3 years of referencing.
• Driving licence with access to a car.

Family Support Worker - Youth Justice Servicer

Pay rate - £15 - 16.50 PAYE

Newport City Council Council

• Be responsible for supporting children on the cusp of the youth justice system with the aim of achieving positive outcomes and preventing them from going on to offend. Be responsible for undertaking needs-based assessments and developing bespoke multi-agency plans to provide children and their families with the opportunity for support via a strengths-based approach.
• Be responsible for the delivery of holistic, family focused programmes and interventions to support parents to build upon their strengths and improve their parenting capacity. To offer a whole family/family centred approach to families with complex needs whereby the child is on the cusp of the Youth Justice System.
