Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a Family Support Worker to join the Early Help Locality Team on a fixed-term basis. The role requires 37 hours per week, working full time, with hybrid working between home and office.

Welsh language ability is a requirement, along with safeguarding responsibilities to support children and families in Bridgend. You will collaborate with local hubs and the central team to identify needs and deliver integrated services, acting as a key worker for families

Qualifications

Bridgend County Borough Council has developed with other partners, a framework for a more integrated approach to the provision of services for children, young people and families.

To work as part of an Early Help Locality Team to devise, implement and support a range of services available to meet identified needs of children, young people and their families. This will require liaising with other service providers in the Early Help Locality Hubs in the Bridgend North, East and West Localities, and with the Central Team. The role will include the use of operational systems for needs identification via Signs of Wellbeing Module, Team around the Family (TAF), tracking and progression to provide an integrated working approach to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. Family support workers will act as key workers and provide support for families with unmet needs to prevent or minimise the risk of needs escalating.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
