Overview

We are working closely alongside with Birmingham Children's Trust to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker on a 1.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.91- £17.92 per hour

Summary

The Family Support Worker at Birmingham Children's Trust works within a multi-disciplinary, professional, integrated family support and safeguarding service. The primary purpose of the role is to use professional knowledge and skills to work in partnership with practitioners, children, young people, and their families to achieve positive family outcomes. This involves leading and coordinating multi-agency support plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and acting as a lead professional for an allocated caseload. The role is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and promoting equality of opportunity and diversity.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the lead professional for an allocated caseload of children and families.
  • Delivering evidenced based interventions to positively effect change and promote the welfare of children and young people
  • Acting as a champion in a specific practice area (e.g., domestic violence, substance misuse, disability) by delivering workshops and providing advice.
  • Acting as a Designated Safeguarding Professional (DSP) within the Family Support Service
  • Actively promoting the participation of children, young people, and their families in assessments and support plans.
Essentials
  • Educated to GCSE standard and hold an NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience of delivering evidence based interventions with children, young people, and their families
  • Experience of completing an assessment of a childs needs that identifies needs and informs intervention
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training in order to comply with the requirements of the post

You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
