We are currently looking for a Family Support Bank Therapist/Counsellor to join our team. As part of the hospice’s Family Support Team, you will be providing individual counselling sessions to adults and young people in complex situations. With a recognised counselling or psychotherapy qualification and membership with BACP, UKCP or similar, you must have at least two years’ experience of working with adults and young people experiencing loss and bereavement and ideally a good knowledge of the impact of disability and life limiting diagnosis on a family. We are currently not able to offer an interview to newly qualified candidates for this role.
The Family Support team is made up of Counsellors, Play Therapy and Creative Arts and Counselling, Art Therapy, Social Work, Family Support Work and Chaplaincy. Our team of professional counsellors offer support to families from the point of referral to bereavement and beyond. As a Family Support Bank Therapist/Counsellor, your support will be tailored to the very specific needs of the individual. You will provide expert counselling services and ideally will have experience in supporting young people and adults including regular reviews and there is the potential to be involved in running therapeutic groups for parents and young people at times. All counselling takes place from the hospice whether it is face to face, virtual or by telephone call.
Hourly rate: £17.85 per hour
Holiday Pay: 12.07% of hours worked
Employment Status: Zero-hours contract. No guaranteed minimum hours. Work offered as needed. You can accept or decline work based on your availability.
