Overview

Social Worker – Family Support Team, Monmouthshire. Locum opportunity based in Monmouthshire Social Services' Family Support and Protection Team. Primarily based at Usk with home working encouraged. Initial contract 3-6 months. A driving licence with access to a car is required. Coverage will be for cases in Usk, Monmouth and Abergavenny. Pay rate up to £38.43 per hour umbrella or £30.50 plus holidays.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the assessment and planning for children, young people and their families who require social care involvement to ensure health and well‑being and protection from neglect and abuse
  • Complete assessments and progress plans that evidence improvement in the welfare of children and young people within an appropriate time frame
  • Preparation of written evidence and progression of the case to legal proceedings
  • Caseload includes high level statutory intervention including Child Protection, Private and Public law cases
  • Responsible for adoption orders where required
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or willing to apply for a DBS
  • 3 years of referencing
  • Driving licence with access to a car
