Job summary

FQPS Academy Ltd. is seeking an experienced Family Law Solicitor to join our team. You will manage a varied caseload across all family law matters, from divorce to children cases, and represent clients in both legally aided and privately funded matters.

The role is full-time and office-based initially, with potential for hybrid working by agreement after establishment. The successful candidate will be proficient in advocacy, drafting, and case management, and committed to high-quality client

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales (SRA-registered).
• Proven experience across the full range of family law work.
• Experience handling both legally aided and privately funded matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering the full range of family law matters.
• Advise and represent clients in legally aided and privately funded cases.
• Handle divorce and financial remedy, private/public children matters, domestic abuse and injunctions, and cohabitation disputes.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate and work with counsel and professionals.
• Maintain accurate files, meet deadlines, and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear, sensitive, professional client service and support the development of the family law department.

Practice Area

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Solicitor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and client-focused solicitor who can manage a varied caseload across the full range of family law matters.

The role will initially be full-time and office-based. Once established in the role, we are willing to consider an element of hybrid working by agreement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering the full range of family law matters.
• Advise and represent clients in both legally aided and privately funded cases.
• Handle matters including divorce and separation, financial remedy proceedings, private and public children matters, domestic abuse and protective injunctions, and cohabitation disputes.
• Undertake advocacy where appropriate and work effectively with counsel and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate files, meet deadlines, and comply with Legal Aid Agency and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver clear, practical advice while providing a sensitive and professional service to clients.
• Support the continued development of the family law department through strong client care and professional relationships.

About You

• Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
• Proven experience across the full range of family law work.
• Demonstrable experience of managing both legally aided and privately funded matters.
• Sound knowledge of legal aid eligibility, procedure, billing requirements, and relevant family law legislation.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, drafting, and case-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support clients through sensitive and challenging circumstances.
• Well organised, commercially aware, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
