Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Family Solicitor to join a well‑established Legal 500 firm renowned for its supportive culture, excellent reputation, and commitment to professional development.

You’ll be joining a close‑knit, friendly team consisting of two fee earners and two secretaries, reporting directly to a highly experienced and well‑established Head of Department. The department is busy and successful, handling a broad range of privately funded family matters.

The Role

As a Family Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy proceedings
  • Private children matters
  • Cohabitation disputes and pre-/post-nuptial agreements
  • Domestic abuse and injunction applications
  • Supporting clients with empathy, professionalism, and practical advice throughout their case

You’ll also be expected to:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Contribute to the team’s continued success and growth
  • Participate in networking and business development activities as required
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive environment that values both professional and personal well‑being
About You

We’re open to considering candidates from Newly Qualified Solicitors through to Senior Associates. Whatever your level, you’ll have:

  • A strong background or seat in family law (private work preferred)
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • The ability to manage your own caseload efficiently
  • A proactive, team‑oriented approach

For more senior candidates, there is flexibility to be based at one of the firm’s other Dorset offices, with hybrid working available to support a healthy work‑life balance.
