G2 Legal Limited is assisting a South Yorkshire law firm in recruiting a senior Family Solicitor/Partner to lead its matrimonial offering from Barnsley. The role focuses on financial remedy work, divorce, and developing the family department with a leadership remit.

Responsibilities

• Lead a varied family law caseload with a focus on matrimonial finance
• Handle complex and high value financial remedy matters, divorce and separation
• Advise on cohabitation matters and prenuptial/postnuptial agreements
• Manage private children matters when required and advise privately funded clients
• Develop relationships with existing and new clients and referrers
• Mentor junior team members and support succession planning
• Shape the future direction of the family department with autonomy
• Lead and develop the family department as part of growth strategy

A well-established South Yorkshire law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Family Solicitor or Family Partner to lead and develop its matrimonial offering from its Barnsley office.

This is a senior opportunity with a strong focus on matrimonial finance and financial remedy work, alongside the opportunity to develop the wider family department and take an active role in its continued growth.

The Role

You will have responsibility for a varied family law caseload, with a particular focus on matrimonial finance, including:

• Complex and high value financial remedy matters
• Divorce and separation
• Cohabitation matters
• Pre and post nuptial agreements
• Private children matters where required
• Advising privately funded clients
• Developing relationships with existing and new clients
• Building relationships with professional contacts and referrers
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

There is genuine scope to help shape the future direction of the family department, with a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to take on a leadership role.

About You

The firm is looking for an experienced Family Solicitor with a strong background in matrimonial finance.

You should have:
