Job summary

G2legal are advising a small, independent family law practice in Altrincham to hire an experienced Private Family Solicitor. The role focuses on taking on an established caseload while helping to grow the Matrimonial Department, with supervision from senior partners and a clear path toward Head of the Family Department for the right candidate.

The ideal solicitor will manage clients directly, maintain high professional standards, and contribute to client relationships and referral networks.

Family Solicitor

Location: Altrincham, Greater Manchester

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience

Hours: Full-time/Part-Time

A small, independent, high-street law firm in Altrincham is looking to hire an experienced Private Family Solicitor to join its friendly team and play an important role in the continued development of its Matrimonial Department.

The Role

The firm currently has a small Matrimonial Department; the firm is looking for a Solicitor who can take on an established caseload while helping to grow the department.

The firm does not undertake legal aid work.

You will work with a good degree of autonomy and be capable of managing your own caseload with minimal supervision.

The Solicitor will initially be supervised by the firm's partners who has decades of experience in family law and will provide experienced support and guidance.

There is a genuine opportunity for progression with the ultimate goal of the Family Solicitor to take responsibility for the department and progress to Head of the Family Department as the department develops.

The firm is looking for a Solicitor with solid private family law experience who:

• Can manage their own caseload with minimal supervision
• Has good technical knowledge and sound judgement
• Is confident dealing directly with clients
• Is commercially minded and interested in helping to develop a department
• Can build strong client relationships and generate repeat and referral work
• Is organised, reliable and able to work as part of a small team
• Will fit well within a friendly and collegiate office environment

• 10% bonus on fee income generated above target
