Job Title: Family Paralegal (Temporary / Locum)
Location: Worcestershire
Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Duration: Initially 1 month+, with potential for extension
Start Date: Within 1–2 weeks

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Family Paralegal to provide temporary support within a busy Family Department. The role will primarily focus on Care Proceedings work, with some exposure to private family matters, such as Child Arrangements cases.

The successful candidate will handle a variety of administrative and legal support tasks, working with minimal supervision once familiar with the firm’s processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and summarise case documents, including hospital and expert reports, preparing clear and detailed notes.
  • Complete C2 applications and other court documentation accurately.
  • Open new client files and upload relevant documentation to the case management system.
  • Prepare, paginate, and file court bundles.
  • Book and liaise with Counsel where required.
  • Assist with both Care and Private Family cases, including Child Arrangements matters.
  • Maintain accurate time recording and case notes.
  • Provide general administrative support to fee earners as needed.
Essential
  • Previous experience within a Family Law department, ideally covering both Care Proceedings and Private Family work.
  • Ability to work independently once trained on internal procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional approach.
Desirable
  • Experience preparing bundles and completing C2 or other court applications.
  • Familiarity with public law processes and liaison with Counsel or Local Authorities.
