Overview

Family Legal Assistant, Greater Manchester, 12+ months experience, GBP 25,000 - GBP 27,000. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join a dynamic, friendly, and supportive Family Law team. JOB REF: 1447

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive support to Family Law Fee Earners, ensuring effective organisation and prioritisation of cases for smooth progression and outstanding client service
  • Draft and prepare a range of legal documents, including court forms, witness statements, client care letters, and correspondence with clients and third parties
  • Attend client meetings and appointments alongside solicitors, offering professional and administrative assistance
  • Manage new client enquiries and support the client onboarding process from initial contact to file setup
  • Oversee file management tasks, including opening files, completing compliance checks, maintaining diaries, and assisting with billing procedures
  • Handle incoming calls, correspondence, and general administrative duties to maintain an excellent standard of client care and office efficiency
Skills Required
  • Previous legal secretarial or assistant experience working in a Family Law department
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with case management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy legal team
  • Previous experience in Child Care or Family Law matters is required
