We’re proud to have achieved a GOOD Ofsted rating (December 2024), and we’re continuing our journey to deliver the very best services for children and families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
We’re looking for experienced, passionate Social Workers to join our Family Help Teams, building strong relationships with children and families and helping them make positive, lasting changes.
At BCP, we want social workers to have the space to do what they came into the profession to do: build relationships, listen to children, work alongside families and make a difference.
Why BCP?
Our workforce says it best:
“BCP is like one big family… which is really rewarding”
“You can do lots of different direct work with children. Last year I even went crabbing with a family on the beach. It was amazing!”
As a Family Help Social Worker, you’ll work directly with children and their families to understand what is happening in their lives, identify strengths and risks, and build plans that create meaningful and sustainable change.
As a Family Help Social Worker you in a locality based team and will work across the continuum of need, including:
Your work will be relationship-based, child-centred and restorative. You’ll spend time getting to know children and families, understanding their lived experiences and working alongside them rather than doing things to them.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll:
For our more experienced Level 3 Social Workers, there will also be opportunities to support and mentor less experienced colleagues and students, contribute to high-quality practice across the team and help develop the next generation of social workers.

We’re looking for Social Workers who are confident practitioners but who also understand that lasting change starts with relationships.
You’ll bring:

Our Pay, Terms and Conditions
We’re looking forward to welcoming new colleagues under our refreshed framework of pay, terms and conditions.
To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. This reflects our commitment to equity across the organisation and aligns with the approach taken with existing staff during the transition.
While the starting salary is fixed, the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution and being part of a forward-thinking team.
