Job summary

Service Care is seeking an experienced Family Court Adviser (A3) to support safeguarding and court decisions within family proceedings. The role involves risk assessment, preparing reports, and direct work with children and families under a short-term contract.

You will work closely with judiciary teams, handle private law contexts such as contact or residence, and ensure welfare remains central to every decision.

Qualifications

• Recognised social work qualification required.
• Minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience with children & families.
• Proven experience in risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and IT skills.
• Able to work under pressure in high-conflict situations.
• Knowledge of private law family cases desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of children and family situations to identify welfare concerns.
• Advise courts on case risks, safety and welfare considerations.
• Prepare detailed reports to support court decisions.
• Engage with children and families to gather information and provide support.
• Manage sensitive cases professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure safeguarding checks are completed per policies.
• Record and manage case data accurately using IT systems.
