Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to perform inspections on manufactured parts in Wirral. Candidates should have a minimum of five years in aerospace or military/defense sectors and be proficient with inspection tools and engineering drawings. This role is contract-based inside IR35, requiring the use of an Umbrella Company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years experience in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 standard.
• Ability to perform in-process and final inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts.
• Report inspection accept/reject information to the customer using a web application.
• Inspect parts to engineering drawings and industry standards.

Overview

Our customer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to compile FAIRs at their site in the Wirral.

This is a contract role inside IR35 & will require the use of an Umbrella Company.

Job Description: The quality inspector shall perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.

Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.

The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

• Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
• The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
• Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required.
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
