What skills and experience we're looking for

Oathall is seeking to recruit a Faculty Assistant / Cover Supervisor to join our team in the Art and DT Department. The role involves in-class supervision of students, covering for teacher absences across all subject areas. You would also be used to provide support to students in and out of lessons as directed, as well as providing administrative support for teachers across all faculties.

Hours and Salary

Our normal contractual hours for this post are 30 hours per week but we are prepared to offer contracts of 35 hours per week with the additional hour per day being used to provide help with after school student activities or faculty administrative support.

  • 30 hrs per week term time only – 8.40am - 3.10pm Grade 5, SCP 7 – Actual salary £17,472
  • 35 hrs per week term time only – 8.40am - 4.10pm Grade 5, SCP 7 – Actual salary £20,384

Candidates must be literate, numerate and a competent user of IT, with the skill to support students across all age groups in secondary education. We offer a comprehensive training package including an induction programme. We welcome and support applications from those interested in looking to start a career in teaching.

You would be expected to work Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 3.10pm or 8.40am - 4.10pm depending on contract hours. This includes an unpaid 30 minute break. We would also be prepared to consider part time days (but not hours). There are 5 teacher INSET days that you would not be expected to attend. The post is term time only.
