Job summary

A public sector organization in Newry is seeking candidates with catering and domestic experience. The role requires providing excellent service, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health and safety regulations. Qualifications

  • Experience of carrying out a range of practical domestic or catering duties in a paid capacity.

  • Good awareness of health and safety issues within the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the best possible service to service users and staff and ensure maximum cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
  • Order and maintain stocks of food supplies in conjunction with the person-in-charge.
  • Empty and clean waste receptacles, removal of waste bags and placement for collection.
  • Follow cleaning methods and work schedules as instructed.
  • Report any defects in equipment or areas requiring attention.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and safe procedures.
  • Participate in mandatory training to meet standards required by regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain stocks of food supplies in conjunction with the person-in-charge.

  • Follow cleaning methods and work schedules as instructed.
  • Report any defects in equipment, work surfaces or areas requiring attention to the person in charge.
  • Ensure the observance of and adhere to the safety regulations and safe procedures within the facility such as Health & Safety/ COSHH/ Colour Coding/Environmental Cleanliness/Waste management/Food Hygiene Procedures and Food Safety Regulation.
  • (This includes wearing protective clothing provided).
  • Participate in all mandatory training to meet standards required by regulatory bodies such as Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering and BICS Certificate.
