Candidates should have relevant site and industrial experience in a regulated environment.

  • Perform responsibilities of various management authorisations.
  • Manage staff as a line manager.

Job description

Our client Dounreay, based in Thurso is recruiting a Facility Supervisor to join them on a long-term contract, initially for 12 months.

Main Responsibilities
  • To supervise the work within the complex, ensuring it is carried out safely and in accordance with procedures
  • Review/prepare safe system of work documentation
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the complex
  • Participate in work scope and hazard reviews, work scheduling and interactions
  • Report and investigate abnormal conditions, unusual occurrences and failures and take appropriate action to protect personnel and the environment as defined in PRC 0001
  • Perform the responsibilities of Management Authorisations relevant to post (Permit to Work Issuer Radiation Protection Supervisor Lift Supervisor Radioactive Materials coordinator Risk Assessor Project Supervisor FCA Building Warden)
  • Manage staff as a line manager
Aptitudes and Experience
  • Relevant site knowledge and experience
  • Relevant plant or industrial operation experience in a highly regulated environment
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational and planning skills
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • A positive approach, self‑motivated, assertive and ability to use initiative
