Job summary

AWE is recruiting a Facility Manager to lead a portfolio of operational facilities within one of the UK's most regulated and safety‑critical environments. You will work closely with operational leaders, technical specialists and service providers to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and available to support delivery on site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day‑to‑day management of an operational facility portfolio.
  • Ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and available to meet business and programme requirements.
  • Co‑ordinate the delivery of hard and soft FM services in accordance with defined service standards.
  • Act as the focal point for facility users, building strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Provide authoritative advice on compliance, duty holder responsibilities and operational risk.
  • Deliver robust work control arrangements and support safe execution of maintenance and project activities.
  • Support regulatory interactions and assurance activities relating to facility operations.
  • Contribute to asset governance arrangements, including change management and configuration control.
  • Develop the capability and performance of embedded Facilities Management resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and value for money across the facility portfolio.

Facility Manager
Location:

RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package:

£48950 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Working Pattern:

AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is operational and customer facing, so employees are required to work fully onsite. We support flexible working arrangements where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, while maintaining an onsite presence. AWE is currently recruiting for a Facility Manager to join our Facilities Management Team. Working closely with operational leaders, technical specialists, project teams and service providers, you will be a trusted advisor on facility performance, compliance, work control and operational risk. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of operational facilities within one of the UK's most highly regulated and safety-critical environments. You will play a key role in ensuring facilities remain safe, secure, compliant and available to support operational delivery, whilst leading the provision of integrated facilities management services.

As Facility Manager, You Will:

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
