The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Facilities Technician at Portobello High School. The role covers day-to-day facilities management, janitorial duties, and basic maintenance across school premises. Responsabilités

• Carry out day-to-day FM, janitorial and DIY tasks across one or more buildings.
• Perform general maintenance and small repairs, reactive cleaning and moves support.
• Provide basic security functions for premises and grounds.
• Maintain equipment, furniture and fittings; support grounds maintenance and tidying.

Facilities Technician

Salary: £27,257 - £29,850
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

3 different shift pattern:
- Week One: Monday to Friday - 6am until 2pm
- Week Two: Monday to Thursday - 8am until 4pm, Saturday 8am until 4pm
- Week Three: Monday to Friday - 2.15pm until 10.15pm.

As a Facilities Technician with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are a safe places to workor learn in. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

You will undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
