Role Overview

Responsibilities
  • Carry out hands‑on mechanical maintenance and repairs on plant processing equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise operational disruption.
  • Supervise and perform high‑risk maintenance tasks safely, including working at height, confined space, and electrical systems where relevant.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration, and equipment history.
  • Implement and contribute to maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance equipment reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for plant and site‑based projects, including installation, modification, and maintenance activities.
  • Supervise contractors performing mechanical work, ensuring compliance with permit‑to‑work procedures.
  • Undertake any additional mechanical or plant‑related work as directed by the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications
  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or maintenance (or time served).
  • Practical experience in fabrication and mechanical repairs.
