Job description

We are seeking a multi-skilled Facilities Technician to take ownership of site maintenance, repairs, and ensure the smooth running of production lines. This is a part-time position (2-3 days per week) with flexible working hours, offered on a temporary basis with the potential for long-term work.

You'll thrive in a small company environment, be comfortable managing day-to-day tasks independently, and have a strong commitment to safety and compliance. You'll also play a key role in developing systems that support operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular operational checks on plant equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory to ensure continuity of production.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on plant machinery and facilities, including fault-finding and attending breakdowns promptly.
  • Organise and manage external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and site standards, including Health, Safety & Environmental regulations and documentation.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a multi-skilled maintenance technician.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prepare Permits to Work and manage safe systems of work.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including:
    • Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
    • Work at Height Regulations
    • LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment)
    • Electricity at Work Regulations
    • Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations
    • COSHH and Local Exhaust Ventilation requirements

Pay rates:

  • £13 to £16 ph dependent on experience

Shift Schedule:

  • Part time 2/3 days a week. Flexible working hours
