Job summary

Jack Kane Community Centre is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Facilities Management team. The role covers day-to-day FM, janitorial and DIY tasks across buildings, including minor repairs, cleaning, security and moves. Flexible hours and permanent positions support work-life balance in a public-sector environment.

  • Undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, including small repairs and general maintenance.
  • Support moves and conduct basic security functions; maintain equipment and furniture.
  • Maintain building services and grounds; ensure security of premises and surroundings.
  • Provide cleaning/tidying tasks as part of janitorial duties.

Salary: £27,257 - £29,850(pro-rata for part-time)

Hours: 12.5 per week, 52 weeks

Working pattern for position is 8am-10:30am Monday - Friday

As a Facilities Technician with the City of Edinburgh Council, you'll be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital janitorial service across our estate to ensure our properties are a safe places to workor learn in. MAJOR TASKS/JOB ACTIVITIES

You will undertake day to day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, ranging from small repairs and general maintenance to reactive cleaning, supporting moves and conducting basic security functions.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
