Job summary

Bannatyne Group in Newport is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Operative working 16 hours per week. You will maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing and electrical, perform regular inspections and coordinate with external contractors as needed.

The role requires practical knowledge of building systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A driving licence and own vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance role.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing and electrical).
• Excellent problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool, fitness equipment).
• Monitor preventative maintenance contractors to ensure reliability of equipment.
• Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly (leaks, faults, malfunctions).
• Troubleshoot problems and coordinate with external contractors when needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and club policies.
• Conduct safety checks and risk assessments and report hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all club areas (gym, changing rooms, common areas).
