Job summary

The Royal College of Music seeks a proactive Facilities Supervisor to join the Estates & Facilities team. You will lead the facilities team on shift, oversee room setups, manage service requests, and uphold safety, security, and cleanliness across the campus.

You will also serve as Duty Manager outside normal hours, handling incidents with calm decisiveness. This fixed-term role for 6 months is full-time, with a shift rota that includes evenings and weekends, and an additional shift allowance.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising teams or operational processes within facilities, security, or customer service environments.
  • Manual handling training is essential; First Aid, Fire Marshal, or Health & Safety qualifications are advantageous.

Job reference number: 203-26 Term: Fixed term (6 months) Closing date: 9am Tuesday 22 September 2026 Interview date: Thursday 1 October Salary: Grade 6, £35,381 - £39,107 per annum plus Shift Allowance of £4,886 per annum. Appointments will normally be made to the first point of the grade.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Facilities Supervisor to join our Estates & Facilities team. As a Facilities Supervisor, you will lead the facilities team during your shift, overseeing operational activities, coordinating room setups, managing service requests, and maintaining high standards of safety, security, and housekeeping across the campus. You will act as Duty Manager outside regular office hours, responding to incidents and emergencies while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will have experience supervising teams or operational processes within a facilities, security, or customer service environment. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident using systems such as Outlook, and demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and make informed decisions in emergency situations. Manual handling training is essential, while First Aid, Fire Marshal, or Health & Safety qualifications are advantageous. This full-time role operates on a shift rota, including some evenings and weekends, with an additional shift allowance payable.
