Facilities Project Manager (1-Year Placement)

Location: Campsie, Derry

Contract: 12-month placement (subject to review upon completion)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive Facilities Project Manager for a one-year placement to support the delivery of small and medium-sized facilities and infrastructure projects at our Campsie site. The organisation operates within the engineering and critical-infrastructure sector, supporting high-reliability manufacturing and technical operations.

The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of projects, including construction works, mechanical and electrical installations, and site improvement initiatives. This role requires strong project management capability, technical understanding, and the ability to work with internal teams, contractors, and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and deliver facilities projects that support operational improvements.
  • Manage projects such as mezzanine floor construction, surface car park installations, wastewater pumping skids, canopy installations, and office air-conditioning systems.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with planning authorities to obtain required permissions and approvals.
  • Prepare project budget forecasts and monitor expenditure.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options.
  • Ensure project compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including schedules, risk registers, and progress reports.
  • Provide regular updates to the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A higher-level qualification in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience managing facilities-related projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering project benefits.
  • Experience liaising with planning authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of building services, civil works, or mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment is beneficial.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong project planning and organisational skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar software.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety best practice.
Desirable
  • Experience in critical infrastructure, power systems, data‑centre environments, or similar technical sectors.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • PRINCE2 or PMP certification.
