Facilities Operative

Pay: £12.60 per hour, rising to £13.27 after 8 weeks

Location: Manchester City Centre

Hours: 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Term time only

We are looking to recruit a Facilities Operative to support the maintenance and cleaning teams. Main duties include painting, litter picking, room configuration, and cleaning.

Key Duties Include
  • Cleaning and Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness throughout the facility, including offices, common areas, restrooms, and exterior spaces.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Assisting with minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and possibly working on preventative maintenance programs.
  • Logistics and Operations: Delivering mail, collecting waste, replenishing supplies, and assisting with event setup and tear-down.
  • Customer Service: Providing assistance to staff, visitors, and clients, and responding to inquiries.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining records of maintenance tasks, security incidents, and other relevant information.
Skills and Qualities
  • Physical Stamina: The role requires some physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good Communication: Interacting with a variety of people, both within the organization and with visitors.
  • Problem‑solving: Identifying and addressing issues related to maintenance, security, or other operational concerns.
  • Time Management: Efficiently prioritising and completing tasks while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Teamwork: Working effectively with other facilities staff and other departments.
